(physical, emotional, and financial freedom)
This preparedness list is based on my true life experiences; I had or wish I had these items. I have experienced and have had to endure: so much fear I have wet and pup my pants (more then once), gas shortages, bank closures, food and water shortages, financial collapse (personally and at a national level), economic inflation, high interest, I have been the subject of riots and numerous personal attacks (emotional, financial, physical, and spiritual), floods, tornados, mud slides, hurricanes, as an individual I have been threatened (and in some cases had to take action to stay alive) by bad guys, street gangs, bandits, corrupt police, military, and government officials, I have seen people die because of their inability or unwillingness to be prepared (normalcy bias), extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, dry, and/or windy), cold showers, been unemployed and incapable of caring for my own family, I lost my mother and father at an early age, and probably more I cannot remember. Most important: Experience and Life-Style! Who is NoStressMike Page
For true security (financial and emotional), Avoid Debt – Possess Silver Coins and Gold (All kinds of Coins and Jewelry, Real and Fake) Four Years plus in Expenses (I explain in my classes).
At one time I had over 4 years of income in gold and silver, that was a good feeling and it has saved me financially and emotionally may times. If I would have known what I know now, I would have bought more. I would not have put so much in housing, insurance, stock, and weapons.
Recently I have been using copper coins (rounds) for a tip, bribe, and as gifts.
Copper Rounds are inexpensive, easy to carry, and impressive (1 oz. is best).
Find out what works for you. It is fun being nice, ty it!
Currency: Green Backs? (All Denominations) Four Months Expenses,
(I cannot stress this enough. You need to have gold, silver, guns, and ammunition, then you will have the basics)
Caution: The US government is getting in the position to confiscate Gold, it was in the Health Bill. It is necessary to buy Gold now, once you have to sign for Gold, Silver will be the best metal for your security. Look at your stash of gold and silver as your security escrow. Buy at least $200 a month in gold and silver and in a year you will have learned what, where, and form whom to buy. In a few short years you will have financial freedom. Do your homework before buying.

Small Grab Bag (Ultimate Survival Grab Bag) is made up for international travel or if I only have seconds to leave my secured area. This bag has everything I need to survive anything, and start a new life.
Medium Grab Bag is made up for travel (not in an air plane), on all of my cross country and international motorcycle trips, this bag is my second most important bag and with my small grab bag I can travel most any place in the world.
Large Ready Bag is a place to put other needed items. In the States I use hard case gulf bag with wheels. I use this in case evacuation is necessary. In less then 5 minutes I am ready to go.

Awareness and Knowledge are the most important of all. You will never have everything you need during an emergency or disaster, all you can do is the best you can do under the circumstances. And like insurance, you probably will never use it. But, if you need it, you and your family will be Proud and Thankful, you had the foresight.

This is my Berkey Water Filter Systems, we used it in the states and now we use it on our water well here in Central America. In my world if you get sick, you die. I don’t do medicine or doctors (emergencies only), I don’t care what country I am in.
Useful Tools, 3 or more of these are with me all the time.
Necessary Tools
Knives
Different occasions call for different knives
Pocket Knife: Smaller the better, because it needs to be with you all the time (you may need more than one, depending on your dress and needs). Uses; clean nail, open boxes, tweezers, cut string and light wire Swiss Army
Large Folding Knife: Any-time you are outside your house (even driving from place to place) this knife could be of use. Uses; cutting a seat belt, small branches, rope, light wire, opening boxes, self-defense from animal or man Spyderco
Sheath Knife: If you are going out of town or to the woods, this knife is a must. Uses; cooking, tie to stick to make spear, open cans, pry things open, throwing, self-defense for animal or man, cutting rope and sticks Cold Steel and Ka-Bar
Machete: When you are in the woods, you better have your machete. Uses; Cutting and Chopping limbs and vines, pry things open, throwing, self-defense for animal or man, clearing out an area, digging,
Folding Shovel: is a good all-round tool that is non-threaten and can be used as a weapon. The shovel was a useful tool in Vietnam. Can be kept in the house, garage, or trunk of the car. I keep mine sharp. Glock
Leatherman Type Tool; A multifold, multi-tool, with multipurpose (I carry this all the time) Leatherman
Do Not Under Estimate the Value of a Good Knife
Gun Shows are good places to find good knives and ask questions
also check Spyderco and Cold Steel
Caution: All Knives Are Dangerous To Everyone
Accidents Will Happen, So Always Keep the First Aid (and Super Glue) Close
(Every Knife I Own, Has Cut Me At Lease Once)
In my world, 1 or 2 attackers are not a high degree of a threat. 6 to 12 or more (gang or pack type) puts me in a position where there are no rules. Anyone that knows me knows I face danger regularly. Who is No Stress Mike Page You do to, but most choose to ignore or give that responsibility to others (Call Security or 911).

Firearms
Basic Kinds and Uses
22 Cal. Rim Fire; A must for every family.

Shotgun (Double Barrel or Pump);

www.remington.com/pump-action-model-870
Derringer or Small Handgun; In .22, .32, and/or .38 Cal.

SKS, Mak 90, or AK 47 (Semi-Auto Rifle) 7.62 mm by 39mm;

* If you have to be in a gun fight, this is the weapon you need to have.
I made this comment on a video which compared the AR to the AK
My Comment: I am into pure combat survival and I am experienced in both at both ends. The AR is fun and the AK is a killing machine.
Response: Really??? The M16 / M4 has killed many commies, terrorists, and criminals
My Response: Were you alone?
Response: Tell that to our Marines and Soldiers.
My Response: My point, the AR is a weapon used as a unit, one of many used by professionals because of their support and they are educated in cleaning and maintaining. When one has a problem the others will be there.
For those non-professional killers the AK is simple and easy to get maximum effects.
Response: For precision I’ll take the AR all day long, but in an urban environment where I may have to shoot through barriers it’s hard to beat the punch of the 7.62
My Response: Accuracy is for the aggressor. The AK works best for “Stay out of my space”.
Even in my military and peace officer experiences, which were aggressive positions; I have always been outnumbered and out gunned. For me and the normal people I teach, the simplicity and ruggedness of the AK makes it the top of the line in a defensive weapon.
If you and I have to stand together to stay alive, I would have more confidence if you, I, and the women and children behind us had AKs.
I have a video response for all that question the reality comparing the AK vs AR
wikipedia.org/wiki/AK-47 My personal favorite, no one wants to face this weapon.

Be aware of your own personal needs and abilities.
Prices do not necessary reflect its quality.
Gun shows are good place to buy new guns and ammunition, and asking questions will give you good and bad advice.
Store a case of ammunition for each primary weapon you own.

Know What You Need and How To Use It
For more detail check my blog How to use what you have – My blogs
3 Man Militia: A militia is the most feared fighting force in the world, but your 3 person unit needs to specialize in one and have fun learning 2 or 3 other fields: first aid, water purification, food storage and preparation, radiation, chemicals, communications, leather craft, magic, search and rescue, fishing, boating, hunting, logistics, Hoy Chi (good for making friends), camping, and many other skills you can share with others.
Any and all the above skills will be needed in a crisis.
After your group has gained respect in your specialty, go to your local Sheriff and volunteer your services in time of need. He will appreciate the local support and he will give your group the respect they deserve. I have many on line videos on the 3 Man Miltia
I would appreciate any other ideas you can come up with that we can share.
Alcohol and Liquor: First Aid and Recreation, I make seizure medicine using vodka
Barter Items: Alcohol, Ammunition, Batteries, Candles, Candy, Coffee, Food and Water, Fish Hooks and Line, Liquor, Paper Goods, Playing Cards, Rope/String, Salt, Sewing Supplies, Soap/Shampoo, Tissue, Tobacco, Toiletry Supplies, Trash Bags, and more
Batteries: Try not to use items that need batteries (you will never have enough), think solar panel chargers
Be Prepared: Do your homework, think of situations and how you should react before it happens to you. Create a Survival Library in book form
Candles: Very good for light (the batteries never go bad), and in extremely cold weather, will put out enough heat to stay alive Nuwick 44 hour candle
Clothing: Keep in mind the weather conditions, and have an extra set ready, staying dry will be your main concern, cleans easily
Compass and Maps: You always need to know where you are, so you know where you are going
Consider Learning and Specializing: Open up your mind and become skilled in one or two preparedness fields, such as chemicals and nuclear, advanced first aid, weapons and tactics, security, or others. Learn as a hobby; communications (shortwave radio, Morse Code, and others), Tai Chi (for health), making health enhancing beeswax ointments, food and water storage, take a first responder’s class (don’t worry about the paper work, all you want is the knowledge), transportation, logistics, magic (Magic Ring Trick Bribe Blog), electric, start you own business, or any other skill which will be useful for your safety and/or in an emergency condition. Have the knowledge and the equipment that will make you a valued asset to others. Learn to play or have fun with a musical instrument. Teach and share with others what you know. I have never been to a disaster where I seen true professionals in their field. Learn to test water. With your knowledge, you will make yourself useful to those that need your help.I just stated learning leather craft.
Copies of Important Papers for the Whole Family: Passport (get it now, when you need it, it will be to late), Birth Certificate, Driver’s License, Social Security Numbers, Shots and other Medical Needs, etc. I use a copy of my birth certificate, passport, and driver’s license for ID when I am not driving, they don’t like it but it works. None have my address.
Currency: Green Backs (All Denominations), keep larger bills separated from the smaller ones in your money belt, in your sock or other hide out Blog. Gold (All kinds of Coins and Jewelry) and Diamonds (Real and Fake); great for making deals; they have worth in a Crisis (Sam’s does not want my US Dollar Blog). The Fake Stuff is to give you the appearance of more worth and a magnifying glass is so you won’t be fooled and starting fires. If you need a ride, the cost could get expensive. You would be surprised what a pretty piece of jewelry (real or fake) can do. Silver US silver coins (pre 1964). Bury some gold and silver in different places, which is the best way to ensure its safety.
Get experience: Go to your local police and/or sheriff departments and ask to go as a “Ride Along” in the evenings. This is a good way to get some hands on exposure to the under belly of society. You will get you an idea how human behavior works at its worse. Go to the fire department and have them put you name on the list of volunteers for future preparedness exercise.
Food: You will be surprised how good you will feel with Six Months’ supply of food on hand.
Have some MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) on hand just in case. You will feel good with 6 months’ supply for 2 of dehydrated or freeze dried food on hand. Have a Survival Kit for Emergency Disaster – 72 Hour to a week Kit for Home, Work and Auto Can and Dried Food (6 Months’ Supply)from Freeze Dry Guy has good buys and good food
First Aid: The good First Aid Blog Kits will give you everything you need and instructions. Super Glue will close small cut, suture and tread for large cuts, and sterile surgical blade. Lots of Aspirin and Vitamin C. Make sure you have your prescription medication. Important: When I travel, and I get injured or sick, I would rather use my First Aid stuff then use what is locally available. In combat, when someone needs First Aid, you use the victims First Aid stuff. You may need your First Aid for yourself.
First Aidfrom Freeze Dry Guy – honestmedicine.com – silverlon.com
My personal first aid kit is in my water purification bottle.
Flares: Strike like a large match works well and the kind that shoots in the air can make a weapon in a pinch.
www.amazon.com/Orion-Safety-Prod-Strike like a match type
www.bestglide.com/Signaling Devices
Fire Extinguishers: Makes a good distraction and self-defense, it can block everyone’s’ view, can be used by anyone in the family, hitting someone with it will hurt, and it can also put out fires. I used smoke and fire extinguishers on SWAT Teams, their whole system comes to a halt when they cannot see. Fire Extinguisher for Self-Defense? Blog
www.amazon.com/Kidde-FA110-Purpose-Extinguisher
Gas Mask: Hazardous Materials are all around us all the time (railroads, factories and highways), if you need one there is nothing else that will do the job.
www.nationalterroralert.com/gasmasks/
www.keepshooting.com/militarysurplus/protectivegear/israeli-gas-mask.htm
Gifts: Are given away before and after making new friends. Learn what makes good gifts (coins, food, candy, jewelry, and more) and start giving gifts now so you will know how to when the time comes. If you don’t know how to be nice, you will be paying high bribes and extortion later.
Good Mental Conditioning: The Most Important of All, “Attribute”. With a clear understanding of Good Morals and God’s Laws, you will know when a wrong is being done to you or your family, and with a clear conscience, you will be able to react accordingly.
Good Physically Conditioning: You don’t mean you have to be strong, but if you feel healthy you will feel good about yourself, and you will perform better.
Guns and Ammunition (various types): Firearms have three good unquestionable uses:
1) Convenience, most anyone can make this tool function.
2) Protection, the sad fact is that there are bad people and animals (rabid, hungry, and/or crazy) out there that will hurt you or your loved ones.
3) Food, without the modern ways (electric and refrigeration), food will be prepared from fresh ingredients (fish, rabbit, rat, and others). After a disaster, healthy food and water may not be available for days. Allow the family to get familiar with guns now. Bow and Arrows/Sling Shot and Marbles work will also.
(Do not forget Gun Cleaning Supplies and a case of ammunition (stored) for each primary weapon.)
Humor: You would be surprised what a Laugh or Smile will conquer, keep things in perspective, life can be pretty funny.
Knives: Do Not Under Estimate the Value of the BLADE.
Know Your Limits: By understanding what you are capable of doing physically and mentally, you will then have a better understanding of your options.
Lighting: Candles, oil Lamp or Coleman lantern (nights are long).
Lighter/Matches: A Bic lighter would come in handy when you’re cold and wet.
Mirror: Can be used easily to signal, directing light, or look around corners.
Motion Detector: You will be able to sleep much better. Can be used to scare off would be trouble makers (man or animal); by a door, window, under your car, guard your supplies, or even watches those blind areas

Pepper Mace: Not Good, but can be used by anyone in the family, a sharp stick in the eye is better for self-defense. Wasp spray is better.
Protect Your Space: You have a bubble around you, which is Your Space Only (approximately 24 inches depending on the circumstances), you have a responsibility to yourself, to protect this space with you life. Such as reaching out to shake someone’s hand (you are allowing them to enter your space). This is called “Zone Defense”. Each zone has its own cautions, you need to plan your zones ahead of time, and be ready to react accordingly.
5 and 1 Gallon Plastic Buckets and Jugs: Drinking water, storage, or a toilet, in an emergency these work good for gasoline, cheap water purification,
Shelter: You can stay under the stars, or share
Someone else’s space for a limited time
Space Brand Sportsman’s Hooded Blanket (Blue or Red) – 16-in-1 Survival-Kit-in-a-Bottle Emergency Kit – www.amazon.com/ tents
Radio: After a disaster there will always be some kind of radio or 2 way communication (Short-wave, get the kind with battery, or better, a crank).

Silverlon: July 2012 my wife was in the hospital dying, I applied Silverlon during the night. The next day the doctors were stunned on the overnight improvement. That day they did 3 series of x-rays, blood test, and more to find out what happened.
As silver coins can heal, Silverlon has the capability to wrap around curves on the body and work on symptoms and locations where a coin can’t. You can’t beat Silverlon on burns of all degrees and causes. I carry it in my backpack when I travel. I have used Silverlon on breathing problems, the heart, digestion, improve circulation, unknown aches and pains, and much more. If it doesn’t work, it will not hurt. Silver takes away pain and itch immediately.
Smoke Bombs: are good for signaling and can be used to change the outcome of an attack. Caution: some smoke bombs can start fires.
Soap: being clean is the first step to stay healthy, I use miracle soap you use less and rinses easily with no residue.
String/Light Wire: use as a snare (catch food), tie to cans together for an alarm, or a trip line.
Trust Your Gut Feelings (Instinct): When you feel things aren’t right, be on alert, and be ready to react accordingly. Remember Nature has given you everything to survive, don’t ignore it.
Veterinary supply for medicines and equipment
Water: Is needed to stay alive, You will die without it, Purification and Containers are a Must
(The main reason I travel well and stay healthy is I only drink good clean water)
If you live on an island or close to the ocean you may want to think of learning more about Reverse Osmosis or some way to make salt water drinkable.

Why Prepare?
The United States and the American Way is based on “The Individual”. As individuals, if we are prepared for the future, we as a nation will prosper and grow strong. I can only help those that take the steps to help themselves.
In the short term: If you have plenty of gold, silver, and guns, and your home and/or business is paid off, you may want to focus on food storage and networking with like-minded people.
Mark my words, “In the near future there will be big changes in the way we live our lives.” If you are prepared, this will be an interesting experience (a challenge), if not, you will be standing in line and confused (disaster).
“Staying Alive and Fruitful”
Urban and rural survival guide for social and situational turbulence, life and death made easy. I share my unique life and life style with solutions to make staying alive and fruitful a challenging event instead of fatal tragedy. Personal safety is my number one priority in a world of misnomers. Now you have options when you are surrounded by economic and social unrest, along with a list of everything you need and how to use it.
A collection of all the Uncle Mike booklets to date, the things your parents were scared to tell you, only an uncle that was concerned about you safety would tell you. All based on techniques and behavior I have studied, acquired, witnessed, and used throughout my life.
During bad times you need all the useful information you can get. “Staying Alive and Fruitful“ will make a good reference source. This is what I have learned and used to stay alive and fruitful when all the odds were against me. I am called, “No Stress Mike” for a reason.
